Abstract

The models of informatics (= computer and information science), called medium models, are considered.
They are created according to the paradigm of dividing the subject domain of informatics into media of different nature, for example, mental, information, and digital ones. The principal idea of creating medium models is the usage of three or more media, the boundaries between them, as well as the distribution of information technology (IT) stages by media and boundaries during IT modeling. Two medium models are compared which are focused on the design of IT and computerised systems that provide the discovery of sentiments and new terms through human-computer symbiosis during analysis of texts. The first model, designed to describe the processes of discovering new terms, was called the information technology-oriented (ITO) model. The second model describes the processes of discovering sentiments in messages of social network users and, at the same time, new terms if they are found in these messages. It was named the ITO-Sent model. The principal aim of the paper is to compare these two models.
